FM Fidan, Russian President Putin hold talks in Moscow

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his official visit to Russia.

According to diplomatic sources, Fidan and President Putin held a meeting in Moscow.

The meeting focused on recent efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia, along with developments following the May 16 peace talks in Istanbul, sources said.

Putin and Fidan also discussed bilateral matters related to the economy and energy.

The meeting began at 7:30 p.m. local time.

Earlier on Monday, Fidan met with an aide to Putin, Vladimir Medinsky, who led Russia's delegation in the first direct negotiations held between Russia and Ukraine in over three years in Istanbul.
